I believe everyone has their own defined resiliency. Being resilient does not mean that people don’t experience stress, emotional upheaval, and suffering. My approach to counseling is focused on understanding a person holistically. I place a heavy emphasis on establishing a safe and collaborative relationship with all my clients; I provide each client with a safe, non-judgmental environment to express their issues and concerns. I hope to help people find their strengths and supporting them in their unique needs.
“Play is children’s language and toys are their words” -Garry Landreth. One of my focuses is working with children and their caregivers. I enjoy working with children and use their language to help them get insight and increase their sense of belonging. I also enjoy working with parents and facilitate parents to use play therapy skills to communicate with their kids.
I was born and raised in Taiwan. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas. I have worked with a diversity of clients, including children, teenagers, and adults. I have also co-led the group for Child-Parent Relationship Training (CPRT) Group in both English and Mandarin. I have facilitated international student self-support groups and co-led psychoeducation groups for the Chinese-speaking community.
