Liya graduated from Master of Arts in Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Hubei University of Education, China. Before Liya started her journey in the counseling field, she has been a teacher for 10 years and she has taught students of different ages in various countries. She always enjoys getting to know each of her students and discovering the uniqueness within each of them. During her time both inside and outside the classroom, she realized that teaching and counseling often go hand in hand, effective counseling prepares each individual for positive learning and growth. And this realization ignited her desire to step into the counseling field.

Life is a journey filled with ups and downs in which we shouldn’t walk alone. Liya has a passion to genuinely encourage and walk alongside individuals in different life journeys. She believes counseling can help individuals manifest their own unique strengths and build effective skills that help them find joy and meaning in life’s ups and downs. Liya’s theoretical orientation is Gestalt Therapy, which fosters personal growth through the development of self-awareness and self-support, enabling meaningful connection with people and with the environment we live in.

Liya welcomes adults, adolescents, and children who are experiencing obstacles that restrict them from living well and functioning fully. She aims to help her client find more satisfying ways of being, behaving and belonging.
